The fascination of light. It attracts us and lets us grow. It is necessary for life, for people, for most animals and plants. It stands for hope, ideas and enlightenment. It moves straight and in the form of rays. It brings objects to life. Light can transform a space, transport us to another place and create other realities - it influences our perception and mood.
Urban space sometimes resembles an unmanageable wilderness. The lights of the night change the mood significantly. Through the coexistence of light and shadow, what is mysteriously hidden in the dark, is constantly present. ""You recognize the face of a person by light, his character in the dark. (- Confucius). Light creates a form, a space, which is created only by the demarcation by its shadow.
In his work ""City Refl3ctor"" the artist Michael Ang investigates interpersonal relationships, empathy and the reflection of one's own self. The interactive work invites visitors to take a look at themselves and others. Man is enchanted by his own mirror image - narcissism is one of the best known examples of this. Switching identities. Shared identity in public space.
The artist duo Atelier KIM & GOTTLIEB shows the new video work ""Kumulus"". This generic video shows our contemporary computer-based understanding of what we call ""climate"". Clouds are simulated, the simulations develop through wire frameworks into fluctuating data points that are both nature and art.
