Diversity makes our society rich, accessibility makes it valuable. Denk.mal Inklusiv, the cooperation project between Galerie neurotitan and Kopf, Hand + Fuss gGmbH, takes up the challenge of thinking together inclusion and a modern culture of remembrance by means of inclusive street art workshops.
Thus Denk.mal Inklusiv dedicates itself to this year's motto for the day of the open monument ""Modern(e): Upheavals in art and architecture"". Because inclusion is modern!
In the workshop series, which was jointly developed by people and artists* with and without disabilities, questions and perspectives regarding the promotion of the idea of inclusion within a modern culture of remembrance will be addressed using various methods of street art on the day of the open monument. This is expressed on the one hand by the workshops themselves; they are offered barrier-free and free of charge for children and young people up to the age of 27. At the same time, the means of art will be used to examine current discourses on memory culture with regard to the concept of inclusion, by asking questions and taking positions on aspects such as accessibility, entitlement to participation, risks of exclusion, and the role of the arts in the process of inclusion.
Inclusion opportunities are developed within a modern culture of memory. Stencil, screen printing, ad busting and braille graffiti are the art forms that visualize these questions and positions.
Denk.mal Inklusiv invites all interested parties to register for one or both workshop days. The number of participants* is limited. Participation is free of charge.
A registration is therefore necessary under: annika@neurotitan.de.
ADBUSTING means in German ""kaputt machen"" (to destroy advertising). Together with the artists* we alienate and stick over advertisements, signs and posters or redesign them in other ways. The meaning of the advertising is often reversed or the message of the posters made ridiculous. Adbusting is a technique with which we can get a lot of attention for our own messages. It also allows us to show a critical perspective on inclusion in memory culture.
STENCIL means stencil and is mainly used for spraying images that can be spread so quickly. The workshop is led by the streetart artist OSTAP.
