About Us

The URBAN ART WEEK was developed by Katia Hermann and Jochen Küpper in connection with the formation of the “circle of the urban scene” (www.urbanvisit.org) in 2017. Since 2018 we are a team of five persons, in 2019 even seven, supported by some helping hands.

What unites us all is our great passion for urban art. Since the format of the URBAN ART WEEK does not receive any public funding yet (except for the film program at Kino Central, with the friendly support of the Berlin-Mitte District Office/Department of art, culture and history), we are trying to find private sponsors for individual events of the program.

An initial budget was made possible by our participants willing to pay a participation fee in 2019.

Many thanks to all of you!

We would also like to thank our production partners Kulturplakatierung, Pinguin Druck, Spreequell, On the run and JOYBO – Joy in Bottle for the great support, and our media partners Berliner Fenster, Urbanpresents and Street Art Berlin.

If you have any suggestions or ideas just send us an email!

Petra Branke
Social Media Report, Raving photographer
10.000s of followers in social media channels, 100.000s of comments and likes and almost as many photos – Petra Branke is almost everywhere, to take photos of Germany’s artists and cities, with tight connections to the urban art scene’s artists themselves. She is always on tour, with a sharp eye for special places, human interactions and funny, unique happenings. In the focus of her work stand the artists and their art pieces, the fun of spending time together while an artwork is created in the streets. Her photos capture unique, authentic moments and we are happy for her support in this year’s Urban Art Week.
